In today’s society “culture” seems like a foreign term. To some it even comes across as “Cult-ish”. Allow me to define our culture to you and why it is so important to our company, our team, and as individuals.
Culture is defined by Merriam Webster as: “the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization”. This set of shared values is what we believe sets us apart, holds us accountable and inspires others.
Keller Williams has been celebrating our culture for 20+ years as an organization. “Whether it’s serving each other, serving our communities or serving our planet, a culture of doing more than just selling real estate defines us as a company.” – http://www.kw.com/kw/culture.html. Every day, as real estate agents, we wake up to serve our clients. Being a part of KW means we also hold ourselves accountable to serving our peers, our industry, our communities and our world. This is where KW Cares was derived from. KW Cares is our charitable foundation built to support agents in their time of need as well as our local communities after disaster strikes or where a need occurs.
Have you heard of RED Day? RED is not only the color of KW, it is an acronym in this case. Renew, energize and donate. One day every year in May, our company KW Global celebrates RED Day. Every office shuts down, agents flood the communities and we get into action. Raising money, cleaning, working along side non-profits and participating in our communities as a company of culture.
We wear matching RED shirts and venture out into our communities. Last year our office at Keller Williams Advantage Realty, LLC volunteered with Jefferson County Open Space. We spent the day picking up trash on the trails up Lookout Mountain.
The quantity of trash collected that day is shocking. On what most would consider a relatively clean, well maintained and beloved mountain, we collected a pile of trash filling 50+ big orange bags! What a gift. We couldn’t believe what one day of impact could produce.
This year we will be heading out to help our community in a small and mighty way. We are volunteering with single mothers to help them around the house. We will be doing everything from construction projects, home maintenance, painting, organizing and really anything they need from us. We are all so excited to get out and serve. If you are interested in joining us this year, we are spending all day May 11th. Please let us know if you’d like to be a part of this.
Not only is Keller Williams the #1 training company in the world. What we pride ourselves on more is being a company of culture. A culture to serve. A culture to help our peers and share our successes. A culture to build up people around us. This is what our team strives to do every day. How can we serve? How can we help each other grow? How can we serve our clients at the highest level possible? What more can we do?
Our culture holds us accountable to being the most ethical, servant people we can be. God. Family. Business. In that order we prioritize everything we do. When we serve others first, our culture shines. Don’t be surprised if we send you a book, invite you to a class, call with free information on the market. Our culture is to serve.
How can we serve you?
